As I finally got over the excitement over Prada’s latest
project, I woke up today to even more exciting news as another one of my
favourite brands have also just launched their latest project. That brand is
Burberry. Last night in the city of Taipei, Christopher Bailey hosted an event
to celebrate the opening of the Burberry Taiwan flagship store at Taipei 101 but
this was no ordinary event. After all it is Christopher Bailey we are talking
about! The man who has his beautiful models, walk down the runway in rain, glitter and even snow. However this time, Bailey revealed last night the Burberry
World Live project were he designed a custom cylindrical space that brought to
life the Burberry worlds of British Heritage, Fashion and Weather. Bailey
demonstrated an eight part 360 degree film combined with a live musical
performance (which was performed by one of the Burberry male models) and a weather experience were leaves fell from the ceiling followed by golden rain.
Earlier this evening, the Burberry Facebook page presented highlights from last’s
night events including some shots of the film. My favourite part begins where
Cara Delevingne fights of the harsh British cold winds by pulling up the collar
of her iconic Burberry trench coat as the autumn leaves blow around her and fly
out of the film, falling down on the guests. And as thunder rips through the
clouds, the lights flash inside the room and I begin to get chills and goose bumps
as if I’m walking through that ferocious storm. I can just imagine that the
good people of Taipei who attended last night’s event must have also felt the
same as Christopher Bailey gave them an experience that one cannot forget. The
Burberry World Live project is just the beginning as Christopher Bailey will be
touring cities like Hong Kong, London and Chicago to share this wonderful
experience. But for now, Christopher Bailey would like to share this
beautifully crafted video with you. Enjoy.
