British-born beauty
Thea Stratton looks more hauntingly doll-like in the recent editorial, ‘The
Lady in White’ for the latest issue of Velour Magazine. Shot by Toby Knott,
Stratton is dressed in an all-white ensemble for this shoot which immediately
reminded me of the white collection that Comme Des Garçons presented for the
Spring/Summer 2012 season. Stratton looks wildly, over-dramatic for this
monochromatic shoot and it isn’t just the large volume of teased hair, draped
around her shoulders giving her this look. In addition she is matched with marble
stone skin and dark, intimidating eye make-up. And with her thick eyebrows and
big, bright eyes, Stratton comes across more of a wild animal, watching her
prey. Although putting her studies first and having gained a place at Cambridge
University, Stratton has been labelled by Mario Testino as one of the five
British models to watch, in which I certainly hope this means, we will see a
lot more of her in the near future. After coming across this editorial, I can’t
help but fall in love with Stratton, her hauntingly stare draws me in completely
and there is definitely no going back.
