While taking my daily
dose of the latest news in the fashion industry in the evening heat of
Marbella, I came across what may be my favourite campaign for the Fall/Winter
2012-13 season. And to my surprise, it was someone new to my ears; the Dutch
label, Peet Dullaert. Bold yet ultra-cool, Dullaert’s Fall/Winter campaign
takes key pieces from his first F/W season that comprised of thirteen looks.
With shades of pretty pastels contrasted with black and white against knitted
textures, it was no wonder the collection was titled ‘Liquorish’ with the reminiscence
of liquorish allsorts that springs into mind. Dullaert’s collection is full of beautiful
asymmetrical, minimalistic structures but there is something new and fresh about
this collection giving it that eye-catching feel that a new designer wishes to
achieve. It’s the fuller sleeves and cuffs in style of Marie Antoinette but
think; pure, clean and neat. Forget the ruffles! Or the cropped trousers with
the little bit of extra fabric that falls further down the leg; adding a taste of
subtle drama. It feels modern, in a futuristic sense. Peet Dullaert returns in
October with his S/S 13 collection and I just can’t contain my
excitement. See the rest of the campaign
here, along with the full F/W 12-13
collection.
